How You Can Help
The City of Alameda and a number of Alameda nonprofits are seeking healthy volunteers under the age of 65 to help support vulnerable members of our community.
Volunteers may be assigned to various organizations serving Alameda that need support. Assignments may include sorting and packing meals and food stuff, sorting donated items, delivering meals, returning phone calls about COVID, shopping and delivering groceries, and much more.
Please check back here later this week and we will have a link to sign up and indicate your volunteer preferences. Your information will then be forwarded to the appropriate organization(s).
Contribute to Meals on Wheels: Alameda Meals on Wheels is an essential service that is committed to providing meals to our most vulnerable neighbors. Due to this Shelter in Place, the need for support has increased. Please click here to find out how you can help.
Donate to the Food Bank: The Alameda Food Bank is currently limiting food donations to reduce person to person contact, and are instead encouraging donations by check and cash. You can donate online at www.alamedafoodbank.org.
