Availability and Reservations

LOCATION:  1450 High Street (Lincoln Park)
DAYS: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays (No Tuesdays)
HOURS:  9:00 a.m. to half-hour after sunset

You may call the ARPD Rental Office at (510) 747-7576 during regular business hours to check availability.

In order to reserve the Bocce Ball Court, you must complete a Facility Use Permit Form and submit it with payment at least 7 business days prior to event and up to 6 months prior to your event.  Must be 21 years to obtain a permit.

You may submit your completed permit and payment by:

  • In Person or Mail:  Alameda Recreation and Park Department, 2226 Santa Clara Ave, Alameda, CA 94501
  • NO Alcohol or Smoking Allowed.
  • Motor Vehicles Prohibited Except In Designated Areas or By Special Authorization.  No Overnight Parking.
  • Bicycles, Skateboards and Scooters on Pathways Only and Must Yield to Pedestrians.
  • Dogs Must Be Leashed and Under Control.  Dog Owners Responsible For Cleaning Up After Their Dogs.
  • NO Littering and Dumping.  Place in Trash and Recycling Cans.  Clean Up After Your Picnic.
  • NO Amplified Sound Unless By Permit.
  • NO Personal Barbecue Grills or Other Cooking Sources.  Use the Barbecue Grills provided in the park.  No Food Trucks or Food Carts.
  • NO Nails, Tacks, Staples, Electrical Tape on City Property.  Please respect direction given by City Staff.
  • All fees must be paid in full at the time the reservation is issued.
  • Acceptable forms of payment:  Cash, Checks (made payable to ARPD), American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA.
  • Revised permit:  Any changes to permit = $25 administrative fee


  • City of Alameda Resident Discount - A utility bill showing proof of residency and a picture ID is required to receive the discount

 Bocce Ball Court Rental Fees

$12 per hour with a 3-hour minimum on weekends
$12 per hour with a 2-hour minimum on weekdays


$32 per hour with a 3-hour minimum on weekends
$32 per hour with a 2-hour minimum on weekdays


Alcohol is only permitted inside the fenced area of the Bocce Ball Court and not allowed outside in the Park. You must obtain an alcohol permit and make sure the Recreation and Park Department has received your permit prior to bringing alcohol in the Bocce Ball Court.

The Bocceball Courts are locked and you will need to pick up the key from the ARPD Main Office (2226 Santa Clara Ave, Alameda).  Be sure to bring your permit to confirm your rental.

  • Weekend Reservations:  You will need to pick up the key by 5:00 p.m. on Friday
  • Weekday Reservations:  Pick up the key no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of your rental

During your rental time, no one outside of your party is allowed to use this facility.

At the end of your permit time, be sure to lock the gate after using.  All keys must be turned in to the ARPD Office mailbox drop at the end of your event.

We recommend you bring your own bocce ball set.  The key that opens the Bocceball gate also opens the cabinet inside the courts and should have a spare set of Bocceball, however, we cannot guarantee this.

The use of any outside vendors, such as hired contractors, inflatable jumpers and caterers, by any rental groups must be approved by ARPD prior to date of use and may include additional fees.  Additional insurance requirements must be met seven (7) business days prior to date of event.

JUMPERS:  A reservation is required to have a jumper.  Jumpers must be set up outside of the fenced Bocceball court.  Inflatables which use water are not allowed.  Personal inflatable devices are not allowed.  Generators must be provided by the inflatable company if electricity is not available in the park.  See Bocceball Court Rental Policy for list of approved Inflatable Companies.

  • Cancellations:  $40 cancellation fee to cancel permit
  • Rainy Day Policy:  Please advise our Office on the first business day after your reservation if your bocce ball court rental was cancelled due to rain and you will receive a credit on your ARPD account.  No refunds.
