Recreation Afterschool Program (RAP)

RAP is our supervised Recreation Afterschool Program
available to children at the schools listed below.

2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR RAP PROGRAM:
ONLINE RAP REGISTRATION STARTS ON
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2022 AT 10:00 AM

All new and returning participants will be eligible to register.
In order for your child to be picked up on the first day of RAP,
your child must be registered by WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2022.

Alternate programs may be offered on Non-School Days.

  • The 2022-2023 RAP Program is available to 1st to 5th Graders attending Bay Farm, Earhart, Edison, Franklin, Love, Maya Lin, Otis and Ruby Bridges Schools.  Please note:  The RAP Program at Paden School is closed.
    • Do you have a Kindergartner attending one of the schools listed above?  ARPD will pick up your student onsite if they are enrolled in a BRIDGE PROGRAM (i.e.,  AIK).  Kindergartners will pay the same amount as the 1st to 5th graders since ARPD will pick them up just prior to the 1st to 5th dismissal time.
    • Do you have a Kindergartner attending Maya Lin School?  ARPD is offering pick-ups for Kindergartners for  only due to their modified dismissal schedule.  Please note that there is a different RAP fee schedule for Maya Lin & Paden Kindergarteners.
  • IF YOUR PREFERRED DAY CHOICE IS FULL, PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD ON THE WAITING LIST, BECAUSE WE MAY BE ABLE TO ADJUST OUR ENROLLMENT NUMBERS.

ARPD Programs follow all State and County Health protocols.  All RAP Program details are subject to change (i.e., AUSD calendar changes, Alameda County Health Department guidelines, etc.)

RAP meets every school day at dismissal time, including modified or early dismissal school days and ends at 5:30 pm.  THERE IS NO RAP CARE ON SCHOOL HOLIDAYS OR NON-SCHOOL DAYS.  AUSD provides us with the early and modified day schedule before the year beings and we plan accordingly.

Meet your RAP Leaders at the pre-designated pick-up areas at the school (see below).  All participants will walk back to the park as a group with the RAP Leaders.

**NOTE:  Maya Lin and Paden School Kindergartners will be picked up by RAP Leaders from their classrooms at dismissal time.**

Once RAP Staff leaves school grounds for their park site, they cannot return to school for late kids (i.e. field trips, enrichment, etc.)  Any kids with bikes, scooters, skateboards or roller blades MUST walk or carry them and obey all traffic laws on the way to the park.  Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

For Kindergarteners enrolled at Maya Lin & Paden Schools:
 You must contact ARPD before 11:00 am if your child will not attend RAP for any reason.
For 1st to 5th Grades:
 You must contact ARPD before 12:00 noon if your child will not attend RAP for any reason

Please send an email to arpd@alamedaca.gov OR call (510) 747-7529 ext. 1.  Be sure to leave your child's name, absence date and school site.  NO REFUNDS, CREDITS OR MAKE-UPS ARE ALLOWED FOR ANY DAYS YOU MISS

RAP fees DO NOT cover cost or enrollment for any non-school vacation camps.  (Camp enrollments require separate forms and fees).

 

All participants must be picked up by 5:30 p.m.  Starting at 5:31 p.m., a late fee of $1 per minute will be charged for late pick-ups, payable that day.  If you are more than 30 minutes late, we will contact the Alameda Police Department to pick up your child and take him/her to the Police Station.  If late pick ups are a consistent problem, we will take further appropriate action.

 

All fees must be paid a minimum of 48 business hours in advance before your child is picked up for RAP.  You must pay by the published due dates.

2022-2023 FEE SCHEDULE:
ATTENTION ALL 3 DAY PARTICIPANTS: 
DAY CHANGES:  You must specify the days of the week your child will attend.  These days will remain the same for the full session unless you pay the $15 administrative fee to change them.
EXTRA DAYS:  You CANNOT swap any unused regular day(s) for any extra day(s).  You may add an one-time additional pick up day (outside of your regular day); there is a $20 per day charge which must be paid in full 48 business hours in advance of the date needed.
Financial assistance is available for Alameda residents.  To qualify, you will need to complete a Fee Assistance Request Form and return it with the required documents to ARPD Staff.  To request a form, just email arpd@alamedaca.gov.
