Picnic Rentals

Picnic areas are available for rental to individuals and organizations.  ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED.

Availability and Reservations

Picnic areas are available for rent on Saturdays and Sundays for a minimum of 3 hours.  You may call the ARPD Rental Office at (510) 747-7576 during regular business hours to check availability.

In order to reserve a picnic area, you must complete a Facility Use Permit Form and submit it with payment at least 7 business days prior to event and up to 3 months prior to your event.  Must be 21 years to obtain a permit.

  • NO Alcoholic Beverages
  • NO Smoking in parks or within 20 feet of entrance or windows of buildings (Ordinance #3038)
  • NO Personal Barbeques
  • NO Amplified Music, P.A. Systems or Use of Air Horns
  • NO Nails, Tacks, Staples, Electrical Tape or Other Marring Materials are to be sued on any City property
  • NO Food Trucks or Automobiles allowed in the parks
  • ALL Dogs Must Be On Leashes and Under Control

You may reserve the picnic areas on Saturdays and Sundays at the park sites listed below. Three-hour minimum is required and you must include your set-up and clean-up time in your requested hours.

  • Note that there are some picnic areas in our parks that remain first-come, first-served, however, outside vendors are not allowed at these picnic areas.  You must have a picnic reservation to add a vendor/jumper.
  • Charcoal barbeque grills are available for use at the picnic sites.  Leave charcoal in the public BBQ after use and ARPD Staff will dispose of it.  No personal barbeques are allowed.


  • All fees must be paid in full at the time the reservation is issued (no partial payments).
  • Acceptable forms of payment:  Cash, Checks (made payable to ARPD), American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA.
  • Revised Permit:  $25 Administrative Fee for any changes to permit.  No changes allowed to your permit within 7 business days prior to event.



  • City of Alameda Resident Discount - A utility bill showing proof of residency and a picture ID is required to receive the discount
  • Active Military Discount - Proof of Active Military ID is required to receive the discount

Additional Clean-Up Fee required
for large groups of more than 75 people
    $50 per hour for Private Groups
$150 per day for Non-Profit Organizations
Holiday Rental (If Available)
    Add 15% per hour


The use of any outside vendors (inflatable jumpers, caterer, clowns, etc.) by any rental groups must be approved by ARPD prior to date of use, and may include additional fees.  Additional insurance requirements must be met seven (7) business days prior to date of event.

If You Cancel:

  • Less than 7 Business Days to your event:  All fees will be forfeited
  • More then 7 Business Days to your event:  $40 fee will be charged and the rest of the fees refunded

Rainy Day Policy:

  • Please advise our office on the first business day after your reservation if your picnic was cancelled due to rain and you will receive a credit on your ARPD account.  NO REFUNDS.
