Volunteer & Community Service Opportunities

The Alameda Recreation and Park Department offers a wide variety of volunteer and community service opportunities for those in Middle and High Schools which count towards school community service requirements.

Spring Teen Volunteer Program
Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the Alameda community while learning valuable leadership and job skills and a strong work ethic?  Then this is the program for you!
Operation Green Sweep - Spring
Green Sweep is looking for teens who want to earn community service hours by helping to beautify our City parks and community centers.
 2024 SUMMER:
Summer Teen Volunteer Program
This activity requires applicants to fill out an application, attend an interview, register and pay for their session(s) and attend a mandatory training.  Spaces are first-come, first-served and are limited.  Application Deadline:  May 1, 2024 at 5:00 pm
Junior Leaders Volunteer Program - NEW!
This exciting NEW program is for Incoming 9th-12th Graders for Fall 2024 - we encourage candidates who have previously participated in the ARPD Summer Teen Volunteer Program.  This program aim to prepare Junior Leaders to enter the workforce and one day work for ARPD.
