Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon System (RRFB) to be installed at Island Drive and Maitland Drive

Construction work will begin mid-August to improve pedestrian safety at Island Drive and Maitland Drive. The project is expected to be complete by the end of September 2018. Construction work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The project includes installation of Wireless Solar, a LED Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Crosswalk System, push buttons, concrete, striping, and signage.

 

During construction, motorists may experience minor disruptions in traffic, temporary loss of parking spaces, and noise and dust. Bus stop access will be maintained throughout the project.
