Webster Tube (State Route 61) Overnight Closures for Maintenance Work

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Webster Tube (State Route 61) starting tonight Monday July 7th through Wednesday 9th 10:00PM to 4:30AM each night, for tunnel maintenance. The closures will take place overnight, and the tube will remain open during the daytime.

Closure Details

• Monday, July 7, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Tuesday, July 8, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Wednesday, July 9, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Traffic Control & Detour Information

• During closures, motorists are encouraged to use the Posey Tube as an alternate route.

• Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist drivers.

• The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be onsite to support traffic management.

Important Notes

• The tunnel will remain open during the daytime hours; closures are nighttime only.

• Work is weather dependent.
