West End Library to Host Photography Program

On Thursday, October 24, 2019, the West End Library will host a slide show featuring images of wildlife from around the world. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The presentation, Albatross to Wildebeest – Wildlife Images from Around the World, will showcase east bay photographer Tom Debley’s work from his travels. He has captured on film: wildlife from the savannah of Kenya to the Galapagos Islands, elk and bison in Yellowstone, sandhill cranes in New Mexico, as well as polar bears in Canada and grizzly bears in Alaska.

This free program is being offered by the Alameda Photographic Society. It was founded in 1940 and promotes the art and science of photography, encourages contests and exhibitions, and stimulates interest and advancement in the knowledge and practice of photography.

The West End Library is located at 788 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda and is wheelchair accessible. It is served by AC Transit routes 20, 51A, 96, O, and W. Bicycle parking racks are available at the library. For more information on this and other library programs, visit www.alamedafree.org/Events-directory/Calendar or contact the West End Library at 510-747-7767.
