Community Listening Session: Emergency Housing for Alameda’s Homeless

The City of Alameda lacks sufficient housing space for our unhoused residents. To address this need, the City Council approved using existing real estate assets at the following three vacant properties to provide emergency shelter for approximately 32 unhoused residents:

  • 2845 Pearl Harbor Road
  • 2815 Newport Road
  • 2700 Lemoore Road, Unit A

This new emergency homeless housing program is designed to promote and support placement in permanent housing. The City is contracting with Bay Area Community Services (BACS) to operate this emergency housing for unsheltered Alameda residents.

Please join staff from the City of Alameda and BACS at a community listening sessions being organized to provide more information about this new program, listen to comments and concerns from residents, and discuss the status and needs of housing at Alameda Point.
