Alameda Police Month in Review November 2025

The following incidents represent a selection of the police activity that took place in November 2025. A complete monthly summary can be found at www.alamedaca.gov/data.
Impaired Driving: On 11/6 at 9:33 pm, officers responded to the 500 block of Willie Stargell Avenue for the report of a driver inhaling nitrous oxide. As officers approached the running vehicle, the driver was observed with items near their mouth that suggested they were inhaling the gas. During the officer’s contact, the driver displayed signs of impairment. After conducting a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was arrested for impaired driving. #25-06281
Impaired Driving: On 11/8 at 2:06 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Park Street and Santa Clara Avenue. After initiating a traffic stop, the driver displayed signs of impairment. Upon completion of a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was arrested for DUI and a probation violation. #25-06297
Vandalism: On 11/8 at 8:09 am, officers responded to the 1700 block of Cambridge Drive for the report of a vandalism. After reviewing video footage, officers immediately recognized the suspect. At 1:38 pm, an officer located the suspect in the 2000 block of Blanding Avenue. The individual was arrested for vandalism and trespassing. #25-06299
Attempted Theft: On 11/10 at 11:31 am, officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of 5th Street for the report of an in-progress theft. When employees attempted to contact the individual, they discarded the items and fled the store. The individual was contacted by officers who were waiting outside. The suspect had three outstanding warrants. Two of the warrants were related to previous Alameda cases. The business recovered nearly $800 in merchandise. The individual was arrested for multiple offenses including shoplifting, warrants, and narcotics. #25-06346
Impaired Driving: On 11/29 at 10:07 pm, officers responded to the 1600 block of Sherman Street for the report of a rollover collision. After losing control of their vehicle, a driver collided with an unoccupied parked car. The driver was able to exit the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. There were no injuries reported and the driver was arrested for DUI. #25-06702
Traffic Enforcement: APD officers issued 104 traffic citations and 181 traffic warnings. There were 14 impaired driving arrests, 6 of which stemmed from collisions.
