Tennis - a game of a lifetime!  ARPD offers group lessons or private/semi-private tennis lessons for youth and adults.

This class is designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions, and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.  Registration in this class entitles participant to 6 classes during the current drop-in session.

Alameda Recreation and Park Department Tennis Instructors are available for private and semi-private instruction year-round.  Time and location of the lessons are flexible and arranged upon request.  Our Instructors are experienced tennis teachers, many of whom are certified professionals.  Contact ARPD Staff at arpd@alamedaca.gov to set up your private/semi-private tennis lesson.

  • Private Tennis Lesson - $46 per hour per person
  • Semi-Private Tennis Lesson - $31 per hour per person

The tradition continues as the Alameda Recreation and Park Department presents the oldest continuous sporting event in the city.  The tournament is open to all adults.  Men's and Women's Divisions as well as Doubles and Mixed Doubles.  This tournament is also open to Juniors (14-18 Years) for Singles and Doubles events.

Entries are available at Fairfield, Krusi and Leydecker Tennis Courts, ARPD Office and at the Harbor Bay Club.
