One of the two docks and gangway at Encinal Boat Ramp will be temporarily removed for repairs.
Removal is scheduled to begin today and complete by tomorrow (January 12-13, 2026).
During removal, both boat ramps will be closed. The remaining dock will reopen for public use after tomorrow.

Starting Monday, November 17, we will begin upgrading the lighting controllers for our sports fields and courts to a new centralized control system. This upgrade will allow us to manage field and court lighting more efficiently and enhance overall reliability.

Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD)

ARPD is proud to be the third oldest park system in the State of California with over 30 parks and facilities serving more than 15,000 people annually. We strive to be resourceful, responsive and collaborative as an integral part of our island city.

ARPD is organized into three divisions:

Recreation Services - providing activities for toddlers, children, teens, families and adults
Mastick Senior Center - offering services to adults 50 and better
Park Maintenance - tending to and keeping our parks clean and safe.
