National Night Out

McGruff Standing By Motorcycle

Neighborhoods throughout Alameda are being encouraged to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 36th annual NATIONAL NIGHT OUT(NNO) to promote police-community partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity.

From 6:00 to 9:00 PM on August 6, the Alameda Police Department is encouraging residents in neighborhoods throughout Alameda to lock their doors and show their support for this event by spending the evening outside with their neighbors, community groups, and public safety officers. Throughout the evening, Alameda patrol officers and command staff will visit large block parties and neighborhood festivities.

To assist in the planning process, APD has created a helpful National Night Out Toolkit(PDF, 743KB) with resources and ideas to kick start your block party, street festival, or BBQ. To request a visit, register with APD no later than, July 15, 2019. Police/Fire visits are limited, so register early!
