The Alameda County Superior Court is seeking civic-minded residents to serve on the Alameda County Civil Grand Jury. The jury’s primary responsibility is to examine and report on the operations of local government agencies and to investigate citizen complaints, acting as the public’s watchdog. Prospective jurors should fill out the application online. Participation on the Civil Grand Jury is a significant commitment of at least two meetings per week in Oakland for one year (online Zoom meetings during the pandemic). Nominations must be received by May 5, 2023, to build the Grand Jury for this fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023.
