On October 3 just before 11:30 am, officers responded to the 2200 block of Otis Drive for the report of a possible bank robbery. Officers learned that an individual handed a teller a note demanding money while simulating being armed with a firearm. Out of concern for their safety and that of their patrons, the teller complied with the demands. As police were arriving, the bank’s staff worked to gather video footage and preserve potential evidence to assist with the investigation. As officers canvassed the area, an image of the suspect was sent to all patrol units. Ultimately, officers located the suspect at a nearby business. Just before 12:30 pm, the suspect peacefully surrendered. The investigation has been referred to APD’s Investigations Unit.
