Local Urgent Care Clinic Partners with City of Alameda & The Research Park at Marina Village to Offer COVID-19 Testing
Free COVID-19 Testing at The Research Park at Marina Village Starting July 22nd, 2020
Alameda, California: CityHealth Urgent Care today announced a new partnership with the City of Alameda and The Research Park at Marina Village to offer COVID-19 testing to local residents.
Located in The Research Park at Marina Village at 300 Wind River Way, Alameda, CA, the new CityHealth testing unit will have the capacity to test 500 people per day and will return test results within 15 minutes.
“This rapid expansion highlights the need for as many people as possible to get tested,” says CityHealth UrgentCare CEO Sean Parkin.
“We’re seeing many positive cases that are asymptomatic, meaning they have COVID-19 but don’t show any symptoms, so they’re not self-isolating. Even if you feel fine, it’s important to get tested. You may be spreading the virus without knowing.”
To facilitate testing as many people as possible, no appointments are required. The CityHealth Alameda COVID-19 testing site will be open 7 days a week, 9am to 5pm, with an initial opening date range of July 22, 2020 to September 22, 2020.
Testing is free for anyone with proof of insurance, and all insurance plans are accepted.
For those without insurance, CityHealth has partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to cover the cost of COVID-19 testing. Residents requiring free testing must bring valid United States government issued identification.
CityHealth currently has COVID-19 testing sites open at its San Leandro and Oakland Urgent Care locations, as well as a mobile testing unit to serve local communities and businesses. For those self-isolating or otherwise unable to see a doctor, CityHealth also offers virtual visits and a mail-in COVID test.
CityHealth’s COVID-19 testing will involve obtaining a nasal swab which will be placed into Quidel’s FDA approved COVID-19 antigen analyzer to determine if the patient has the antigen. It does not test whether or not you have the antibody.

“Providing the infrastructure for CityHealth’s team to offer accessible COVID-19 testing is the least we can do. We hope that by facilitating CityHealth’s efforts we’re helping keep our community healthy and safe during these unprecedented times,” says The Research Park at Marina Village representative Dan McGill.
