EBMUD UPDATE: The advisory for ‘no body contact’ at Alameda/Oakland Estuary due to a wastewater spill on August 15, 2020, has been lifted.
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) experienced a sanitary sewer spill estimated at 50,000 gallons at the Oakland Estuary near Alice Street in Oakland. Water sampling at the spill site now indicates that contamination from the spill is no longer impacting the surrounding waters and the advisory posting has been removed.
