To slow the spread of COVID-19, Governor Newsom just issued new directives guided by science to protect the health and safety of all Californians, calling for 1) home isolation for everyone over 65 or with chronic illnesses, 2) all bars, nightclubs, wineries, and brew pubs Statewide to close, 3) keeping restaurants open but reducing occupancy by half with deep social distancing, 4) the State will be moving people from encampments to hotels and motels, 5) for nursing homes, no visitors will be allowed except for end-of-life visits. Tomorrow the State will release guidance for child care facilities and help with renters.
