Overnight Closures of Posey Tube (SR-61) For Maintenance Work August 22, 23 and 24, 2022
Alameda County — Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Posey Tube (State Route 61) connecting the cities of Alameda and Oakland for maintenance work August 22, 23 and 24, 2022.
The tube will remain open in the daytime. The closures are overnight only.
During the closures, the tube will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 4:30 a.m. the next morning. The purpose of the closures is for tunnel washing and maintenance work.
Detours will be in place and California Highway Patrol officers will be in place to assist motorists.
Detour Route:
From Alameda — Northbound restricted traffic travels east to Atlantic Avenue and then crosses over the estuary at the Park Street Bridge.
