Webster Tube (State Route 61) Overnight Closures for Maintenance Work

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Webster Tube (State Route 61) on select nights in March for fire system inspections and tunnel maintenance. The closures will take place overnight, and the tube will remain open during the daytime.

Closure Details

• Thursday, March 6, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Wednesday, March 19, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Thursday, March 20, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Traffic Control & Detour Information

• Changeable message and detour signs will be in place to assist drivers.

• The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be onsite to support traffic management.

Important Notes

• The tunnel will remain open during the daytime; closures are nighttime only.

• Work is weather dependent.
