This morning, CityHealth Urgent Care opened the first COVID-19 testing site in the City of Alameda, and tested and provided results to more than 1,000 people.
Located at The Research Park at Marina Village, the testing site saw attendance beyond expectations. Simultaneously, there was an unanticipated and unfortunate issue with liability insurance coverage. To allow for the site to be reconfigured to ensure safe and efficient testing and to address insurance issues, the new facility is temporarily pausing operations.
CityHealth Urgent Care and the property owner are working on a solution to resume safe operations as quickly as possible. We understand this will be frustrating for residents, and especially those who made appointments for the remainder of this week. Information about testing in Alameda and across the Bay Area is posted at www.alamedaca.gov/covidtesting and we will update this page as soon as we have more information. We are hopeful a resolution will be swift and testing will resume here in Alameda very soon.
