The City of Alameda seeks proposals from qualified consultant firms to update the City’s existing Pedestrian Plan and Bicycle Master Plan, and combine the two into one Active Transportation Plan. The proposing Consultants shall have relevant expertise, experience, and an approach that demonstrates their ability to provide the required services. The outcome of this effort is expected to be a new Active Transportation Plan that significantly advances the City goals for mode shift and safety. The maximum City budget for this project is $300,000, and the goal is to have an adopted Plan by December 2020.
The City’s existing Pedestrian and Bicycle Plans are in need of updating to reflect the many changes that have taken place in the past ten years and newly adopted plans and goals, and to incorporate the current best practices in bicycle and pedestrian planning and infrastructure design, community desires, evolving new technologies, and finally, to meet grant funding requirements.
