  • Free Bike Repairs with Bay Area BikeMobile (First-come, first-served. Priority to kids' bikes; adult bikes also welcome.)

  • Helmet Fitting and Giveaway

  • Adaptative bicycling resources with BORP

  • Make a smoothie with the bike blender 

  • Test your safety knowledge

  • Free bike goodies

  • Food Trucks + Music

Free workshops! Pre-registration is required for most workshops/classes.

  • Kids Learn 2 Ride Workshop for kids (with their family member) who want to learn to ride a bike  
    • Time: 12:00pm to 2:00pm. 
    • What: Lose the training wheels! Family interactive class to teach kids how to ride without training wheels. We'll spend the beginning of class taking off any training wheels and pedals, then go over the 3 rules of how to ride a bicycle. Ages 4-12 recommended.
    • Max of 25 families
    • Bring your own bike and helmet.
    • Register here Limited walk-up spots available, too. 
    • Offered by Alameda Bicycle
  • Bike Rodeos for kids (grades K-6) to learn skills and techniques for safe cycling on the road
    • Times: Three sessions of 40 minutes each, starting at: 11:00am, 11:50am, and 1:10pm
    • What: Experienced bike safety educators will instruct students how to fit a helmet and check whether a bike is safe to ride. Students then ride through a course on the blacktop that simulates city streets, to practice proper starting and stopping technique, learn hand signaling, and realize the importance of riding safely and predictably.
    • Bicycles and helmets provided or bring your own
    • Register here for 11:00am and 1:10pm sessions.  11:50am session is open to all - recommend lining up near the station 10-15 minutes early to secure your spot!
    • Offered by Cycles of Change
  • Family Cycling Workshop in Alameda
    • Time: 10:00am to 12:30pm
    • What: Fun games, safety drills, skills building and a neighborhood ride. For kids and parents together. Kids must be able to ride a bike and be ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents. Suggested grade range: 2nd to 6th.

    • Offered by Bike East Bay
    • This class is supported by the City of Alameda with funding from Alameda County’s transportation sales tax
  • Bike Safety Education ("Urban Cycling 101") for adults and kids/teens 10+ year
    • Time: 12:30pm to 2:00pm
    • What: A fun and informative presentation of videos, slides and discussion on avoiding most common bike crashes in traffic, bike laws, riding comfort, theft prevention and locking information. Great for new and experienced vehicle drivers too!
    • In classroom - no bike required
    • Max of 40 people
