Welcome to the Alameda Police Department's Office of the Chief of Police — We are proud to serve the City of Alameda, a unique island community located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, with a population of approximately 80,000 residents. The city's many events, including the Art & Wine Faire, Spring Festival, and Classic Car Shows, draw thousands of visitors each year, creating an exciting and dynamic atmosphere.

The Alameda Police Department is authorized to employ 88 sworn officers and 35 professional staff members, all dedicated to serving the residents, businesses, and visitors of Alameda.
