No Parking Sign Permit

Temporary “No Parking” signs are used to prohibit parking before and during special events, moving, and other similar activities. These signs provide notification to the public that vehicles parked in the posted “No Parking” spaces will be towed to clear the space. Temporary “No Parking” signs are not intended to be used for parking of a personal vehicle.

Temporary "No Parking" signs are issued by the Public Works Department. Only verified City issued signs are enforcible.

If your Encroachment Permit did not include a request for "No Parking" signs, you must separately apply for a "No Parking" Sign Permit.

Portable storage units placed on a public street require an Encroachment Permit. If you have obtained both an Encroachment Permit and "No Parking" signs as part of the Encroachment Permit, you can place your POD.

You must have an Encroachment Permit and "No Parking" signs to place a POD in the public street.

It depends. The City does not have authority to enforce "No Parking" on private streets or on private property. If you are staging a moving truck in public parking spaces, then you should apply for a Temporary "No Parking Sign" Permit. Please call Public Works if you have questions about your particular situation.
