Street Sweeping Program

Street sweeping of public streets is a City service that helps to beautify our community by removing litter and debris from our streets. It also protects the environment, because street sweeping reduces the pollutant load (litter, leaves, pet/animal debris, heavy metals, sediment, etc.) that could clog storm drains or might otherwise reach waterways or the Bay. Certain streets have No Parking signs and associated enforcement during the sweeping schedule to ensure the sweeper can effectively sweep as close to the curb as possible. To request No Parking signs or changes to No Parking signs, please review the Policy for No Parking Street Sweeping Signs(PDF, 2MB) and email the required forms to PW@alamedaca.gov .
