A New Community Aquatic Facility 

The City of Alameda is beginning construction of the Alameda Aquatic Center at Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. The project includes a 30-meter competition pool, activity pool, spectator areas, support building, parking, landscaping, and site and utility improvements.

Initial Construction Activities

Initial activities include site mobilization, temporary fencing and facilities, surveying and utility locating, tree protection, and preparation for site and foundation work. Construction traffic, equipment noise, and temporary pedestrian-route changes may occur as work progresses.

Construction Hours

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

No work is permitted on City-recognized legal holidays. Please follow posted detours and remain outside fenced construction areas.

What Neighbors Can Expect

Advance notice of work stages that may affect access, traffic, utilities, or nearby properties.

Temporary construction fencing, equipment movement, and posted pedestrian or traffic controls.
