Alameda Walks - October 18, 2025

2020 Alameda Walks

Lace up your walking shoes, gather your family, friends and neighbors and join us on an hour-long walk on designated Saturday mornings of each month, May through October!  Whether you are new to Alameda or lived here for decades, this is a great way to begin a Saturday morning exploring our neighborhoods and discovering new areas of Alameda.  Pre-registration is not necessary for Alameda Walks.

All walks begin at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately one hour.  Where walks are longer, it will be noted and new walks are indicated.  Look for the red Alameda Walks hats!  While we love the furry pets, we prefer that they wait for you at home.

NEPTUNE BEACH

MEETING LOCATION:

DOUG SIDEN VISITOR CENTER, 1252 MCKAY AVENUE (IN THE GRASS AREA)

Explore the site and history of Neptune Beach. We'll start the walk on a street where there once had been rollercoasters, then see where revelers swam, danced, and enjoyed all the rides and attractions. Learn how Neptune Beach, which lasted from 1917 - 1939, was one of many beaches that existed between 1878 - 1961.

Walk led by Dennis Evanosky

Walk lasts 1 hour, 15 minutes
