FIN UNIVERSITY: THE AQUATIC ADVENTURE SERIES

Dive into Discovery.
Join Fin University, where imagination and skill come together! This aquatic adventure series is designed for youth who want to build strength, confidence, and creativity in the water through two exciting specialty programs — Shark School and Mer-Person Academy.

Whether your swimmer dreams of gliding like a mermaid or powering through the water like a shark, each program focuses on safe progression, teamwork, and aquatic fun. Led by certified ARPD instructors, Fin University combines water safety, fitness, and themed play to make every splash an adventure.

Shark School

Train like the kings of the sea! Shark School develops swim technique, endurance, and aquatic strength through fun challenges, drills, and games. Each level focuses on skill mastery, safety awareness, and stamina — perfect for future lifeguards, athletes, or strong recreational swimmers.

Shark Foundations- builds basic control and confidence.
Shark 101- refines stroke technique and distance.
Shark 102 - introduces advanced drills and teamwork challenges. This is a prerequisite for Mer-Person Camp

Mer-Person Academy

Together in the Water: RES $52 NR $60

Will Return Summer 2026

Together in the Water is a supportive and interactive GROUP class where parents get in the water and learn how to teach their children to swim—with guidance from a certified instructor. This class is ideal for families whose swimmers (or parents!) may not be quite ready for independent lessons. Our instructors provide the direction, demonstrations, and encouragement, while parents handle all the hands-on activities in the water. Open to all ages, this class helps build confidence for both swimmers and caregivers in a fun, low-pressure environment- because learning to swim is better together!

Swim School: Students work toward developing the five core swimming competencies and receive color-coded stage awards for each achievement. The color stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Students progress at individual rates, with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills and progress to advanced strokes. Learning is self-paced but challenging. This class is for students who are beginning to learn to swim and are not able to swim freestyle across the deep end of the pool. They also cannot tread water for at least 60 seconds.

Stroke School: This course is for students who have achieved the Green Starfish Swim School® benchmark OR the American Red Cross Level 4. Before enrolling, students must pass the green swim benchmark, which requires the ability to swim 30 feet of freestyle with side-breathing. Students must be able to swim efficiently in the freestyle stroke with a 1-2-3 breathing pattern, keeping their face in the water, using an overarm action, and executing a strong flutter kick across the deep end of the pool.

Additionally, they must be able to tread water for at least 60 seconds in deep water. Students will refine their freestyle technique, learn stroke techniques for backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke, and develop their endurance. If the child does not possess the necessary prerequisite skills for Stroke School, they may be dropped from the class.
