Looking Back on Exploring, Studying, Imagining - A Retrospective of Art by Mi’Chelle Fredrick
The City of Alameda’s Mastick Senior Center is pleased to present an art exhibit, showcasing the breadth of work of Alameda’s Mi’Chelle Fredrick. The current display features a total of 66 original pieces, comprised of drawings and paintings. Some of the pieces are for sale, with 15% of the proceeds going toward supporting art classes at Mastick.
The show will be on display in Mastick’s Lobby and Game Room until 2:00 p.m., November 14, 2026. Viewing hours for Fredrick’s exhibit are Monday through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Fredrick, who works primarily in graphite and watercolor, has been exhibited widely throughout the Bay Area and the Midwest. She is also an accomplished photographer, and teaches painting and drawing at Mastick Senior Center. In addition to her work as a professional artist, Fredrick owns her own design practice, serving commercial and residential clients.
“I’ve reached that point in life where there are more years behind me to reflect upon than there are ahead of me to look forward to,” said Mi’Chelle Frederick. “Perhaps that explains why looking back has led to some surprising discoveries. I have always been drawn to the mystery of new places, but have never let go of the comfortable familiarity of home.”
“It’s inspiring to see the breadth of creativity in Mi'Chelle’s work and we’re proud to be hosting this exhibit by one of our prolific artists and teachers” - Morace McKay, Mastick Senior Center Recreation Manager.
