Island Drive Park and Ride Temporary Relocation

Beginning January 1, 2027, the Island Drive Park and Ride at 300 Island Drive will be temporarily closed for approximately 6 months.

Temporary Commuter Lot Location

During this time, commuters may be able to use the temporary parking location at:

855A Island Drive Alameda, CA 94502
Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center (former CVS Parking Lot)  

Closure Duration

January 1, 2027 - July 1, 2027

Closure dates are approximate and is subject to change.

What to expect

• Signs will be posted at both the closed facility and the temporary lot to guide commuters
• Project staff are coordinating with AC Transit, 511.org and private shuttle bus drivers to ensure they are informed of this change.

Project Information

The park and ride relocation is required for EBMUD's San Leandro Channel Crossing Project. The project will install a new water transmission pipe between Alameda's main island and Bay Farm Island to improve water reliability and seismic resilience. This is not a City of Alameda project.
