Bike to Wherever Day is back on Thurs, May 15th with festivities all day long! Celebrate the Bay Area's biggest day of cycling by riding by an energizer station on your way to work, school, or wherever in the morning and then pedaling over to Radium Runway for a blow-out After Party from 5 - 7 PM.

Bike to Wherever Day Events

Alameda Energizer Stations

Kick off the day with a boost! Stop by one or all of the energizer stations for refreshments, bike and transit resources, 2025 Bike to Wherever Day tote bags, and good vibes as you ride on and off the Island.

Below list the Alameda Energizer Stations:

7-10am Webster St. and Appezzato Parkway

7-10am Jean Sweeney Open Space Park 

7-10am Peet’s Coffee at 1365 Park Street

6:30, 7:30, and 8:30am Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal

7am-6pm Westside Joe’s at 1000 Central Ave

9-11am Alameda Bicycle at 1522 Park St.

ATMA Morning Energizer Station, 7-10am

When: Thursday, May 15th from 7-10am

Where: Southwest Corner of Webster St. and Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway

  • Pick up tasty breakfast treats and coffee

  • Learn how to use the BikeLink bike lockers

Bike Commuting Basics: Thurs, May 1st

When: Thurs, May 1st from 12PM (noon) - 1 PM PDT

New to bike commuting or just curious about how to make it work better for you? This welcoming workshop is your starting point for building confidence, learning skills, and finding joy in the ride.

At this workshop, you'll learn how to:
• Set up your bike for comfort, utility, and style
• Navigate bike infrastructure and urban streets with confidence
•Discover tips, tools, and routes that make biking part of your everyday life

Bring a lunch and come connect with others in your community for this lunch-and-learn! We’ll have light snacks to share.

This class is supported by the City of Alameda with funding from Alameda County’s transportation sales tax.

 

Family Cycling Workshop: Sun, May 11th

When: Sun, May 11th from 10 AM  - 12:30 PM

Where: Alameda Waterfront Park, 2151 Ferry Point Alameda, CA 94501

This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and are ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th). The event includes instruction on:

  • fitting a helmet
  • performing a bike safety check
  • communicating with other road users
  • riding in a straight line and avoiding obstacles
  • as well as navigating safely through intersections, all while playing fun games!

All minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate, both with their own working bikes and helmets.

Urban Cycling 101 with EasyStreet Cycling: Wed, May 7th

Learn about the most common bike crashes in traffic, bike laws, riding comfort, theft prevention and locking information. No bikes needed.

About Our Presenter: Bonnie Wehmann, Easy Street Cycling Owner and Head Coach: Bonnie started Easy Street Cycling bike programs in 2014 for Alameda Middle and High School Kids called Street Skills to learn to ride safely and independently to school. She added Bike Skills programs as well for 3rd-5th grade kids and coached hundreds of kids and adults for over ten years.
