Studies show children involved in motor vehicle collisions run a greater risk of serious injury or death. To help reduce these risks, the Alameda Police Department will be offering FREE child safety seat inspections & installations to residents and non-residents of Alameda. The event will be held in the City Hall Parking Lot located on Oak St. (between City Hall and the Police Department). No reservation is required, however, early attendance is recommended.
As a reminder, the California Vehicle Code 27363 requires all children under the age of 8 to be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat. Children who are 8 years of age OR have reached 4'9” in height may be secured by a booster seat, but at a minimum must be secured by a safety belt.
