Alameda City Manager Jennifer Ott has announced her departure, in early December, to serve as the City Manager for the City of Hayward. “Jen has been an outstanding City Manager, and we will miss her,” said Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft, “but we understand and respect her desire to assist the City of Hayward, where she previously served as Assistant City Manager, as they face significant challenges.” The Alameda City Council will meet next month to appoint an Interim City Manager and discuss next steps for selecting a permanent City Manager. Details about this process will be made available over the coming month on the City’s website at www.alamedaca.gov.
