The Alameda Free Library is excited to announce updated operating hours starting Monday, October 6, 2025. These adjustments will increase program capacity, improve efficiency, and better meet the community’s needs. The new schedule provides greater opportunities for the Library to extend its reach, especially to young children and families. Across all three locations, the Library will now be open 133 hours per week, a net increase of one hour per week.

“The new schedule will give Alamedans more opportunities to engage with the Library’s resources and programs at all three of our locations,” said Library Director Mike Eitner. “We’re committed to listening to the community’s needs to ensure the library remains a vital community space.”
