Alameda Police Month in Review April 2025

The following incidents represent a selection of the police activity that took place in April 2025. A complete monthly summary can be found atwww.alamedaca.gov/data.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon: On 4/2 at 6:16 pm, officers responded to the 800 block of Grand Street for an escalating dispute. During a heated exchange, the victim sustained two stab wounds. The suspect was arrested. The victim was treated at the scene and released. #25-01759

Felony Vehicle: On 4/5 at 12:09 am, an automated license plate reader (ALPR) notification alerted officers to a felony vehicle in town. Officers located the vehicle parked amongst a large gathering near Seaplane Lagoon. After contacting the group, officers recovered six firearms and narcotics packaged for sale. Three individuals were arrested. Four others were issued notices to appear in court and were released from the scene. #25-01794

Suspicious Circumstances: On 4/15 at 1:53 pm, officers responded to Lincoln Middle School and Alameda High School after they received suspicious phone calls. To allow officers to conduct their investigation, the Alameda Unified School District initiated a shelter-in-place. The investigation revealed no credible threats. Similar calls had been made nationally as part of a social media trend. #25-01986

Battery: On 4/22 at 11:59 am, officers responded to the 1500 block of Linden Street for a possible altercation. A known associate unlawfully entered the victim’s residence and struck the victim multiple times. During an area check, the suspect was located and arrested. The victim was transported to a local hospital. #25-02120

Identity Theft: On 4/24 at 9:47 am, officers conducted a probation search at a residence in the 2000 block of Monterey Circle. They found numerous fraudulent identification cards, credit cards, checks, narcotics, and a stolen firearm. Two individuals were arrested. #25-02190

Investigation Update: On 3/28, officers responded to the 1800 block of Minturn Street for a report of a stolen truck tailgate. Similar thefts had been reported in the previous weeks. On 4/3, APD investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Oakland. Numerous tailgates, cash, and firearms were recovered. Two individuals were taken into custody. #25-01678

Traffic Enforcement: APD officers issued 385 traffic citations and 228 warnings.
