Brandishing: On 6/1 at 7:06 pm, officers responded to the 2400 block of Clement Avenue for a reported brandishing. A suspect who was known to the victim, brandished a knife and made verbal threats before leaving the scene. The suspect had an active stay away order from the area. On 6/2 at 12:46 am, an officer providing extra beat attention to the area, located and arrested the individual in the 2400 block of Clement Avenue. A knife was found in their possession. #26-03244
DUI Collision: On 6/6 at 5:18 pm, officers responded to the South Shore Shopping Center for the report of a collision. A vehicle collided with a pedestrian as they attempted to cross a traffic lane. As they waited for police arrival, bystanders worked together to prevent the vehicle from leaving the scene. While speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. Multiple empty alcohol containers were located in the car. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. #26-03342
Evading a Peace Officer: On 6/24 at 10:40 pm, officers attempted to contact an individual with an outstanding warrant. As officers attempted to make contact, the individual fled. On 6/30, an Automated License Plater Reader (ALPR) notification, advised officers that the vehicle had reentered the City. The vehicle was located parked along Shoreline Drive. As officers approached, the driver entered the vehicle and fled the scene. The suspect abandoned their vehicle and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The suspect was arrested for the outstanding warrant, evading police, impaired driving, and driving without a license. #26-03717
Investigations Update: In March, officers began investigating a series of storage unit burglaries in the 2300 block of Mariner Square Drive. On 5/28, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in San Pablo. During the search, an APD K9 alerted officers to multiple firearms. Officers recovered dozens of suspected stolen items. During the execution of a second search warrant at a residence in Richmond on 6/4, additional stolen items were located. Two arrests have been made. #26-01441, #26-01520, #26-01562, and #26-01869
Traffic Enforcement: APD officers issued 206 traffic citations and 274 warnings. There were 19 impaired driving arrests.
