Alameda Police Month in Review - September 2024

The following incidents represent a selection of the police activity that took place last month. A complete monthly summary can be found at www.alamedaca.gov/data.

Warrant Arrest: On 9/2, at 6:30 pm, an officer responded to an incident in the 2300 block of Otis Drive. While handling the call for service, the officer observed an unaffiliated party inside of a business with a firearm partially concealed in their waistband. The officer contacted the individual and determined they had warrants. The individual was subsequently arrested. #24-05650

Warrant Arrest: On 9/3, at 4:50 am, officers responded to the intersection of Park Street and Lincoln Avenue for the report of an individual swinging a baseball bat at passing cars. Upon officers’ arrival, the individual placed the bat on the ground. The person was determined to have a warrant and was subsequently arrested. There were no reports of injuries. #24-05654

Armed Robbery: On 9/9 at 10:45 pm, officers responded to the 2600 block of 5th Street for the report of a robbery involving a knife. On 9/11 the subject was located and arrested with the assistance of an outside agency. #24-05791

Burglary: On 9/24, at 8:47 am, officers responded to the 900 block of Otis Drive for the report of an in-progress burglary. When officers arrived, the suspect had already left the scene. Witnesses provided images of the suspect, but they were not initially located. At 12:49 pm, officers responded to the South Shore Shopping Center for the report of a fight. When officers arrived, they recognized one of the parties as the individual from the residential burglary. The individual was subsequently arrested. #24-06131

Warrant Arrest: On 9/24, at 12:49 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along Park Street. During the traffic stop, the driver was found to have a warrant. An unsecured firearm was located in the vehicle. The driver was arrested without incident. The two minor passengers were transported to a family member’s home. #24-06144

Traffic Enforcement: APD officers issued 236 traffic citations and 80 warnings. There were 7 DUI arrests.
