Alameda Welcomes New Assistant City Manager
Following an extensive search, the City of Alameda hired Girard “Gerry” Beaudin as Assistant City Manager. Gerry comes to Alameda with over 17 years of professional experience, most recently as the Community Development Director for the City of Pleasanton.
“We are excited to welcome Gerry to the City of Alameda,” stated City Manager Eric Levitt. “I look forward to working with Gerry to address the opportunities and challenges ahead and am confident that the City will benefit greatly from his experience.”
Alameda’s Assistant City Manager is a vital member of the executive management team, and has a very high level of visibility and interaction with officials, department heads, community groups, business leaders, and residents. The Assistant City Manager will work closely with the City Manager to provide leadership and creative approaches to the City’s short and long-term goals, and to address a wide variety of complex daily operational challenges. When applicable, the Assistant City Manager will serve as Acting City Manager. Among the current priorities assigned to the Assistant City Manager are the facilitation and coordination of cross-departmental projects and responsibilities, with particular emphasis on budget, finance, human resources, library, and recreation & park services.
Gerry Beaudin’s appointment as Assistant City Manager will commence August 26, 2019, at an annual salary of $227,418.
“I've been honored to serve in the City of Pleasanton for the past four years and will miss working with the dedicated staff and passionate community. I wish them all the success into the future. Looking ahead, it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as Alameda’s Assistant City Manager. I am excited about joining the City’s talented team and to work with the City Manager, Mayor, and City Council to enhance the quality of life for the community,” remarked Gerry Beaudin.
The City extends its gratitude to Amy Wooldridge, Recreation and Parks Director, who has been serving as Interim Assistant City Manager.
