Between November 29, 2020, and January 8, 2021, a series of thefts and armed robberies occurred throughout the City of Alameda, targeting Walgreens in the 2300 block of Otis Drive, Walgreens in the 1900 block of Webster Street, and CVS in the 800 block of Island Drive. As Alameda Police Department (APD) Detectives began investigating each theft and robbery, a single individual was identified as being connected to seven Alameda cases.

APD Detectives worked closely with allied agencies, including the FBI, and ultimately linked the suspect to additional robberies in other Bay Area cities. The suspect was identified as Traivonne Howard, a male resident of Oakland.

On January 12, 2021, Traivonne Howard was taken into custody by the Oakland Police Department in their city.

APD detectives learned the Alameda County District Attorney’s office would be filing the following charges against Howard; two counts of armed robbery, two counts of grand theft, and three counts of shoplifting. These charges are all in connection with the crimes that occurred in the City of Alameda.
