City accepting nominations for 8th annual Community Service Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Community Service Awards. The City of Alameda is seeking nominations for exceptional Alamedans who have made tremendous contributions to our community, particularly in advancing racial justice or responding to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Community Service Awards nomination guidelines, online submission form, and past winners can be found at https://alamedaca.gov/csa2021. Nominations may come from anyone in the community and must be submitted by no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Winners from the past five years are not eligible to be nominated. Nominations are being accepted for the following nine Community Service Award categories:

  1. Jim Franz Lifetime Achievement
  2. Volunteer of the Year
  3. Individual
  4. Group (2 or more people)
  5. Non-Profit Board Member
  6. Non-Profit Organization
  7. Youth
  8. Business Person
  9. Business

Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft and the City of Alameda’s Social Service Human Relations Board will honor this year’s recipients at the 8th Annual Community Service Awards Ceremony held virtually on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Additional event details will be shared in the coming weeks.
