Extension of Candidate Filing Period for November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election – OFFICE OF COUNCILMEMBER ONLY
The filing period for non-incumbents, individuals not currently holding office, for the office of Councilmember in the City of Alameda has been extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2022. The filing period has been extended beyond the initial deadline because an incumbent eligible to serve another term has not filed nomination papers. The filing extension only applies to the office of City Councilmember and does not apply to the office of Mayor.
Every elected officer of the City of Alameda shall be a registered voter of the City at the time of filing nomination papers and for a period of thirty (30) days immediately preceding the date of filing.
Nomination documents are available during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 380, City Hall, Alameda, California. For information, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 510-747-4800.
