Monthly Update from the Alameda Police Department - November 2024

The following incidents represent a selection of the police activity that took place last month. A complete monthly summary can be found at www.alamedaca.gov/data.

Vandalism:On 11/5 at 12:10 am, officers responded to the 1200 block of Chestnut Avenue for the report of an in-progress vandalism to five businesses. The suspect was contacted at the scene and arrested. #24-07706

Armed Robbery: On 11/8 at 1:30 pm, officers responded to the 1800 block of Poggi Street for the report of a robbery involving three individuals and a firearm. Officers arrested all three individuals in a nearby residence and located a firearm. #24-07079

Brandishing:On 11/15 at 2:28 pm, officers responded to the report of a brandishing at Lincoln Middle School. An individual was confronted by a staff member after they were found riding their bicycle on the school campus. As the individual was leaving the campus, they brandished a weapon and threatened the staff member. At approximately 5:00 pm, officers arrested the individual in the 1200 block of Pacific Avenue. #24-07237

Assault with a Deadly Weapon:On 11/23 at 2:17 am, officers responded to the intersection of 5thStreet and Buena Vista Avenue for the report of a stabbing. An individual sustained injuries after an altercation with an unknown individual. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation remains ongoing. #24-07389

Collision:On 11/29 at 10:17 am, officers responded to the intersection of Harbor Bay Parkway and North Loop Road for the report of a multi-vehicle collision. A garbage truck suffered brake failure before colliding with a center median and multiple vehicles. There were no reports of injury. #24-07520

Investigation Update:On 11/13, APD executed a search and arrest warrant in both Alameda and Oakland in connection with a string of armed robberies. Detectives have linked a suspect to five separate robberies dating back to late September. The investigation remains ongoing. #24-06739, #24-06061, #24-06062, #24-06417, #24-06647
