Nightly Closures of the Webster Tube (State Route 260) begin April 6th for Oakland Alameda Access Project
Alameda County - As part of the Oakland Alameda Access Project, the Webster Tube (SR-260) will have nightly full closures to allow construction crews to build the new pedestrian and bicycle path inside the tube, with work occurring Sunday through Thursday nights from 10PM to 5AM for approximately 6 months.
To ensure the safety of crews and the public, Caltrans will implement nightly closures in the Webster Tube (Oakland–Alameda) starting Monday, April 6th 2026.
Nightly Full Webster Tube Closures
Scheduled: Sunday to Thursday
From 10:00PM to 5:00AM
During this time, motorists are advised to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Detour: Motorists are advised to use the Park Street Bridge to access the City of Alameda during the nightly closures of the Webster Tube. Posey Tube will always remain open for motorists traveling from Alameda to Oakland, and for pedestrian and bicyclists who use the traveling between Oakland and Alameda.
