Posey Tube Overnight Closure POSTPONED To Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023

 ALAMEDA / ALAMEDA COUNTY — The Posey Tube (State Route 61) will be closed overnight for routine maintenance on Wednesday, November 29.

The closure was initially scheduled for today, but has been rescheduled due to weather.

The tube will now close at 10 p.m. November 29 and reopen at 4:30 a.m. the following morning.

Both the motorway and the adjacent path are closed during tube closures. The lights inside the tube will be turned off during the closure.

The Webster and Posey tubes connect the cities of Alameda and Oakland. The Webster Tube will remain open.

The closure is weather permitting. The Posey Tube will remain open in the daytime. The closure is overnight only.

Detours will be in place at the Posey Tube and Caltrans staffers will be in place to assist motorists.
