Posey Tube (Alameda to Oakland) Overnight Closures for Maintenance Work

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Posey Tube (Alameda to Oakland) starting tonight Monday July 14th through Wednesday 16th 10:00PM to 4:30AM each night, for tunnel maintenance. The closures will take place overnight, and the tube will remain open during the daytime.

Closure Details

• Monday, July 14, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Tuesday, July 15, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

• Wednesday, July 16, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Traffic Control & Detour Information

• During closures, motorists are encouraged to use other alternate routes, such as the Webster Tube.

• Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist drivers.

• The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be onsite to support traffic management.

Important Notes

• The tunnel will remain open during the daytime hours; closures are nighttime only.

• Work is weather dependent.
