The City’s Streetlight Conduit Replacement Project on Moreland Drive from Fernside Boulevard to Buena Vista Avenue and portions of Cornell Drive and Thompson Avenue is scheduled to begin mid-July. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-October 2026.  Work hours will be limited to 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The work will consist of removing and replacing streetlight conduit, electrical conductors, and streetlight pull boxes.

The City will notify residents before the contractor mobilizes in the area by distributing door hangers. The contractor will also provide advance notice and post “No Parking” signs at least 72 hours before work begins and parking restrictions take effect.

We will make every effort to minimize disruptions. The contractor will work to keep one lane of traffic open at all times, however, motorists and residents may experience minor traffic delays, temporary loss of on-street parking, an increase in noise levels, and dust during construction.

The City appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience during construction and apologizes for any inconvenience this project may cause.

Questions regarding the project may be directed to John Tallitsch or Trung Nguyen at (510) 747-7900. This project is funded by the General Fund and the Construction Improvement Tax.
