Webster Tube (State Route 61) Overnight Closure

For Maintenance Work April 7, 2021

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled a full overnight closure of the State Route 61 Webster Tube April 7, 2021. The Webster and Posey tubes connect the cities of Alameda and Oakland.

The Webster Tube will be closed April 7, with the closure beginning at 10 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m. the following morning. The Posey Tube will remain open.

The purpose of the closures is to accommodate routine maintenance work. Work will be postponed if it rains.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the sites during the closures.

Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels.
