  1. Effective, July 1, 2023, the Mayor receives $28,311 annually (Per City Charter Section 2.1.1; amount established by Resolution 16096, September 6, 2023).
  2. Effective July 1, 2023, City Council Members receive $18,986 annually (Per City Charter Section 2.4; amount established by Resolution 16096, September 6, 2023).
  3. City Council Members including the Mayor are eligible for the same health benefits at the same contribution level as the Executive Management Team. This includes a payment of $230 a month for those who do not elect health insurance. (Resolution 15156, June 8, 2016).
  4. City Council Members including the Mayor will receive a technology allowance of $100 a month. (Resolution 15156, June 8, 2016).
  5. City Council Members including the Mayor will receive a car allowance at the same monetary amount provided to EXME. Currently $250 monthly. (Resolution 15156, June 8, 2016).
  6. City Council Members including the Mayor will receive life insurance of $15,000 at no cost (Resolution 11948).
  7. City Council Members including the Mayor will have the option to either enroll in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) or Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) (Resolutions No. 10503 and Resolutions 11948). PERS is required for those members who elect health benefits. The City currently contracts with PERS for health benefits and participation in the PERS retirement system is required of those participating in the health benefit program.
  8. The Mayor receives fifty dollars each month to use in discharging the duties of the office (City Charter Section 6.4).
  9. City Council Members including the Mayor may receive additional compensation for serving on regional boards or commissions.
