AIM - Alameda Independent Mobility
AIM (Alameda Independent Mobility) provides subsidized Uber and Lyft rides for eligible residents. It helps fill transportation gaps like same-day trips and medical return rides that are difficult to pre-schedule through East Bay Paratransit.
Who Qualifies?
- Alameda residents aged 70+.
- Residents 18+ who are East Bay Paratransit (EBP) certified.
How AIM Works
The City of Alameda partners up with Eden I&R, Inc 2-1-1 Transportation to schedule subsidized Lyft and Uber rides.
- Up to 6 Uber or Lyft rides per month within Alameda County
Riders pay:
- The first $4 of each trip
- Any amount over $25
- Payment must be made with a credit, debit, or prepaid debit card

Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 5:30 PM
Effective July 1, 2025
Rides outside of service hours
Eden I&R offers a flexible booking system, FLEX RIDES. Please call 2-1-1 during their service hours to schedule rides.
Trip Types
Use AIM for:
- Same-day medical appointments
- Shopping and errands
- Movies and leisure activities
Note: Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) are not guaranteed due to limited availability in Alameda County.
Additional Support
Eden I&R also operates the 2-1-1 social services helpline. When calling to request a ride, you can also ask for help with food, healthcare, and other resources.
How to Apply
Note: Enrollment is first-come, first-served, based on available funding.
- Complete the AIM Program Application
- Provide required documents
- Proof of age
- Proof of residency
